Craig Tomlin is an award-winning Online Marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and User Experience (UX) leader. A Certified Usability Analyst, he has a proven history of improving the conversion of websites and applications since 1996. He has worked with start-ups, small businesses and Fortune 100 companies. Craig was listed on Mashable.com as one of the Top 10 Must-Follow usability experts on Twitter.
Craig’s specialty is conducting online marketing with SEO, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and UX testing to help companies find and attract website visitors (SEO) then improve the conversion of those visits into leads and sales (CRO and UX).
As VP, Online Marketing and User Experience at Apogee Results, Craig leads the Paid Media, SEO and CRO practice to increase the ROI of client’s online marketing activities. His teams have demonstrated results in generating successes for clients including, BMC, CDC.gov, IBM, The Scooter Store and many more. His goal is to create a winning culture that moves client online marketing efforts from good to great.
Earlier, Craig was a SEO and UX consultant working with firms such as Disney, Kodak, Zurich Insurance Company and others. Craig’s expertise in B-2-B and B-2-C online marketing led to several successful projects for his clients, including increasing the search engine rankings and lead flow by over 100% for Kodak less than 2 weeks after a website redesign.
Craig was also Director of User Experience at TouchCommerce, a leading eCommerce live sales chat company. He led the user experience team and created usability and A/B optimization strategies and tactics that increased interaction rates by as much as 80%, conversion rates by almost 50% and customer satisfaction (CSAT) scores for key clients to as much as 90%.
Prior to TouchCommerce, Craig was Vice President, Internet Management at Countrywide Home Loans, where he was responsible for all SEO activities. He accomplished a major “first” for Countrywide by launching a credit-focused microsite built on the WordPress platform with Search Engine Optimized tools and content included. In less than six months the site; generated almost $3,000,000 in new loan revenue, broke-even 50% faster than forecast, and ranked #1 on Google for a targeted search term one week after launch.
Prior to Countrywide, Craig worked almost 8 years at WellPoint Health Networks (parent of Blue Cross of California, BCBS Georgia, Missouri, Wisconsin and many others) where he led a major redesign of over 20 Blue Cross Blue Shield websites. In addition, he launched the online direct marketing strategy and tactics for all BCBS geographies. He won 1st Place awards from the Web Marketing Association, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and the WWW Health Awards for a unique, customized microsite targeting 19-30 year olds, which beat sales goals by 176%.
