Ok, so he receives free impressions on his advertisement because it’s an ugly, untargeted AdWords that no one clicks on. At best, the value received for this is zero. At worst, he’s doing himself some brand damage.

    Infamy or Praise has warned The Long Tail that his comments could result in his being sued by Google.

    Certainly, such a suit is at best unlikely, and I think that the negative PR Google would receive for such an action would greatly out weigh any potential winnings.
