More from Google Content
Recently Google has made a large addition to its content network with the acquisition of Feedburner for a measly $100 million. Feedburner is a site that manages blogs, RSS feeds, tracks usage and serves ads. This is great news for Feedburner and its user, and Iām sure that Google will make the money back and then some, but will this be a beneficial addition in the Google content network with regards to pay-per-click campaigns? It has already been mentioned that Google has been sending out discontinue notices to made-for-adsense sites, and the addition of Feedburner could do well for Google in adding relevant content to the network. How could it not with upwards of 400,000 publishers? Unfortunately the additional content from Feedburner does not necessitate in any way content on the network actually being relevant to the ad it is serving. Google will make money, but will the clicks advertisers are paying for be worth anything at all?
