Apogee Sponsors a Salvation Army Angel Tree

This week at Apogee Search there sits a pile of new clothing and toys ready to be picked up by the Salvation Army for 30 children of needy families. An Angel Tree at a sponsoring location is decorated with angel tags listing the first name, age and gender of a child who will receive a gift (or gifts). Apogee employees picked out their “angel” and purchased appropriate gifts as described on the tags. Apogee is also serving as a collection point for the gifts until volunteers from The Salvation Army can collect the gifts for distribution, along with food and meals to help families in need during the holiday season.

Since 1865, the Salvation Army has been supporting those in need. Today, nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through an array of social services ranging from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. About 83 cents of every dollar raised is used to support those services in nearly 9,000 communities nationwide. If you would like to sponsor an Angel Tree in your community, or would like to volunteer during the holidays or anytime during the year, please visit http://www.salvationarmyusa.org.
